Connect to Kindergarten

Registration for 2026-27 Kindergarten will open February 28, 2026!

Visit pps.net/enroll for information on enrolling your student for Kindergarten.

Enroll Online

You can register online if ALL of the following apply:

  • Your child is NEW to PPS
  • Your students did NOT attend a PPS Pre-K locations: Boise-Eliot/Humboldt, Clarendon, Creston Annex, Dr. MLK Jr, Faubion, Grout, Jason Lee, Kelly, Marysville, Lent, Rosa Parks, Sacajawea, Sitton, Whitman, Woodlawn
  • Your student does NOT have an IFSP and did NOT receive services from Multnomah Early Childhood Program (MECP)
  • You are enrolling your child in your neighborhood school and NOT a CBO/Charter
  • You have an email address and access to a computer

  • Kindergarten Ramp Up

     

    Kindergarten Ramp Up supports the transition of each student into kindergarten. This takes place in two ways.

    1. It is our plan to invite each family to a 20-minute 1:1 Welcome Conversation at Markham in late August. We will reach out to you to get these scheduled through a sign-up process in early August.
    2. Each kindergartner will be scheduled to attend school for a "Practice Day" sometime between August 26 - 28, 2026 (8:00am-2:30pm). On these days, only a portion of your student's class will be at school at the same time. This provides  our Kinder students to have time in a smaller class setting to practice school routines, build their confidence, and for us all to get to know each other.

    We will assign students to a specific day to provide our best individual support and learning. If it is possible for us to accommodate a date switch, we will do so. Please contact the main office if you have a unique situation that would be supported by a change in date. More details - in early August. 

    All kindergarten students begin together on Monday, August 31!

Markham will be having two Connect to Kindergarten Registration/Bubble Dance Parties! 

This will be a time to register your child for kindergarten - and meet our Kindergarten teachers, and other new incoming Kinders!
